UFC 140 Preview: Elusive Fighters and the Nogs

Welcome to the Lyoto Machida Jon Jones Era. The UFC is taking the Jon Jones legacy building train to Toronto to showcase the young, pound-for-pound, fighter to Canada and say, 'are you not entertained?' Along the train ride, the UFC has brought Frank Mir, Tito Ortiz and the always-down-to-get-beat-up and somehow win, the Nogueira brothers.

The PPV main card is stacked. Four prelims are on ION television (free!) and three will be on Facebook. Dana White smiles. I'll have streams for all three, possibly, if you need it online.

Main Card (PPV)

Light-Heavyweights: Jon Jones (c) vs. Lyoto Machida
If it was a confidence fight, Jon Jones would win easily. Since this is a real fight, Jon Jones would win easily, pending his strategy. Will Jon Jones' athleticism defeat Lyoto Machida's elusiveness and give him the advantage in the takedown department? Is Jon Jones' reach advantage once again going to allow him to open-up and connect easily with every strike? The keyword this fight by Joe Rogan, "DISTANCE."

Prediction: Jon Jones by 2nd Round TKO (GnP)

Heavyweights: Frank Mir vs. Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira
Staph infection all good, Nog? You believe your stand-up is still better than Nog's, Mir? As a MMA fan, I'm begging for this fight to go to the ground to watch some great heavyweight jiu-jitsu. Unfortunately, I feel like Mir is too big for the aged Nogueira to handle at an aspect of this fight.

Prediction: Mir by decision (Not underestimating Nog though)

Light-heavyweights: Antonio Rogerio "Minotoro" Nogueira vs. Tito Ortiz
Tito Ortiz will probably return to his wrestling ways for this one. Nogueira will have a chance to get a submission or TKO, but Ortiz will have the advantage if this fight goes to decision. I do believe Ortiz wants to put on a great show though, so he will be trading punches throughout each takedown attempt.

Prediction: Ortiz by decision

Featherweight: Mark "The Machine" Hominick vs. Chan Sung "The Korean Zombie" Jung
Entertainment.

Prediction: Hominick by KO rd 1

Welterweights:Brian Ebersole vs. Claude Patrick
20 minutes.

Prediction: Ebersole by submission rd 3
