NFL WR refuses to Sign with the Vikings due to Championship Reasons

Green Bay Packers practice squad receiver Tori Gurley turned down an offer to sign with the Minnesota Vikings this week so he could stay on the practice squad. This may be one of the smartest decisions a NFL player ever made. With Donald Driver looking at the end of his playing days, the rookie from South Carolina, Gurley, may be on the playing squad next season. The Packers do like to go with 6 receivers on their 53-man active roster each and every game.

Championship reasons, plus Aaron Rodgers > Christian Ponder, make Tori Gurley a, rare, forseeing football player. Although he does lack the NFL talent to beat James Jones or Randall Cobb for that crucial final WR spot, according to Mike McCarthy. Doesn't matter as much as it should, since the Packers gave him a pay raise to not play in NFL games this season. [GB Press]
