Criticize Steve Spurrier, Lose Gamecock Privileges (Video)
South Carolina Gamecocks head coach Steve Spurrier was living on an emotional high note this week when his team dominated a lesser opponent, Kentucky Wildcats, on Saturday. Then, surprisingly on Tuesday, a happy-go-lucky Spurrier turned vile towards one reporter at his weekly presser. Refusing to having one until the reporter left the room.
State columnist Ron Morris may now have to change his weekly Tuesday reporting at South Carolina.
After South Carolina crushed Kentucky 54-3, Morris disapproved the Ol' Ball Coach's decision to do some late game passing reps with his QB after leading 40-3. Which Spurrier may have been able to let slide if he hadn't wrote another anti-Spurrier report the previous week. A report that, quintessentially, blamed Spurrier for the Auburn loss which everyone had saw the Gamecocks as a huge favorite.
How did any Washington Redskins columnist do any reporting during the Spurrier era?
Side-Note: Quarterback Stephen Garcia has been dismissed from the team. Reportedly, due to Garcia failing an alcohol test last week (he has many other priors). Spurrier waited to see if his other QB, Connor Shaw, was talented enough to make the move. (I think with that statement, I lost any chance to be invited to a Spurrier presser.)
In not so important news, but yet humorous, Stephen Garcia's two older brother went to Harvard.
