Vontaze Burfict is a "Dirty Player"

USC Trojans QB Matt Barkley has always been the star in the dark skies of the scandalous Trojans football program. Saying all the right things to the media and performing on the field. Thought to be a first round pick in the upcoming draft, he has a critique about another potential first round Pac-12 player.

With USC facing off against Arizona State this weekend, the two schools' superstars seem to not like eachother since high school.

USC will have to deal with Burfict on Saturday night, when the 6-foot-3, 250-pound junior hopes to celebrate his 21st birthday by terrorizing the Trojans and quarterback Matt Barkley in a Pacific 12 Conference South Division game at Tempe, Ariz.

"He's a dirty player," the quarterback said, basing his opinion on what he suggests were efforts by the linebacker to injure him by diving at his knees during a high school game.

"His switch is always on. And it's not a good switch."

Even his supporters — coaches, teammates and family members — acknowledge that he navigates a fine line between rage and restraint.

There has been a lot of reports, and actual gameplay footage, of Vontaze Burfict throwing punches at opponents or teammates. Burfict is also known for trash-talking on the field.

He has yet to talk to the media about the Barkley quotes, so he must be saving it for the field. Who knew the Pac-12 plays football? Thought they were just a realignment business.




Irony out of all these quotes, Burfict was thought to be an automatic to go to USC after high school. He was part of the same recruiting class as Matt Barkley. Maybe these quotes by Barkley prove to why Burfict chose to attend Arizona State instead.
