Kobe Bryant Mocks Derrick Rose's Light-Shoes (Video)
Los Angeles Lakers' Kobe Bryant at his basketball camps has been embarrassing Lil Bow Wow, little kids and now Chicago Bulls' Derrick Rose. While making a rare appearance on the sidelines of a basketball court, Kobe tells a camp participant with a camera, "If you wanna break your foot, wear that shoe." The comments are directed, reportedly by the video uploader, towards Derrick Rose's "Crazy Light Adidas shoe."
After making that remark on the shoes, another camp participant gets rim-blocked on a dunk attempt in which Kobe yells out, "it's the shoes!" Due to the camp participant wearing the same D-Rose shoe that Kobe Bryant seems to hate so much. With the NBA lockout taking place, these Kobe camps seem to be the place to be at this summer if you're a basketball fan.
Kobe has a long history with Adidas, 1996-2002, then decided to switch to Nike from 2003-2008 for 5 yrs/$45 million. He has been with Nike ever since and that may explain Kobe's remarks towards Derrick Rose's Adidas shoe.
Kobe is known for his competitiveness. Since there is no NBA for now, he is focusing all his competition focus on the shoe market now. I think Kobe meant to probably say the shoe is "ankle-breaking," since Derrick Rose was known for spraining his own ankles all year.
